We are heading to Orlando next week and had a change of plans adding one extra day to our trip. We currently have four day park passes we purchased from the Official Ticket Center. The tickets are official Disney tickets.

Can we add a day to these passes? We've added days in the past but it was when we were staying on grounds.

YES, you can. It makes no difference where you are staying.

Yes you can add days, but be sure to do two things:

1) Use the ticket at least once before you add a day to it, because otherwise you will loose any discount you got from OTC (don't try to figure out why, it is just another quirk in Disney's computer systems).

2) As of last week you now have to add that day before the ticket is totally used up (you can't add the extra day any day after you have used your last day, EVEN IF it is within 14 days.

yes you can, last year we walked upto the ticket window at DHS paid $15 or so to add a day to our hopper pass and then walked in...

Not anymore...they changed their policy recently...you CANNOT add day (even if previously it was possible) to a ticket that has no remaining day. I would think that's to stop people from selling their used tickets that they are done with, that could've have extra days added, to another person.

Assuming you added your extra day to a used-up ticket, doing this is exactly what Disney has just eliminated and it really frustrates me.

Yeh, this new rule took effect on August 3, 2011. You can still do the upgrade at the end of the day you use your last entitlement, but you can't add to it on the next day.

Example: You use up your last remaining park day today. There is NOTHING left on the ticket. Let's say you leave Magic Kingdom at 3:00 p.m. Then at 9 or 10 p.m. you decide you want to add an extra day or two to the ticket ... you can still do so, just go to Guest Relations at Downtown Disney or outside any park that's still open. In other words, the ticket doesn't go bad the instant you put it into the turnstile the last time, but rather it goes bad after the very end of that day.
