What's going on with the new policy of monorails not running during EMH at the MK and Epcot? Did Disney go ahead with it? What have your experiences been like?

They went ahead with it. I didn't experience it, we were at the WL and we only did EMH at MK so we just took the shuttle boat. But, they were doing it when we were down there 2 weeks ago.

Does the resort express monorail still run late...like if you're at Dinner at California Grill at 9:45...park closes at 10....you finish dinner at 11:00....you have to take a bus to TTC and then another bus to your resort at the Grand Floridian??? That sounds nuts!!!!

That is greatly depreciating the plus of staying at a monorail resort!!!!

Additional details can be found here. (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=184363)

But it is looking like the monorail will run for an hour after closing, and then you'll have to use busses and/or boats.

We were there July 15 - 24, during which time they were only in effect for Epcot. There were plenty of signs around reminding guests of the change. In my opinion, 1 hr is too early, especially from Epcot. We watched Illuminations one night and by the time we walked from Germany to the monorail, it was 9:45p. We did get on a monorail but 15 min later, they closed the lines and the rest of the folks left behind (nobody already in the monorail station - only those who hadn't yet gotten in line) had to head for the buses instead. They hadn't yet started the MK restriction although the resort monorail was the only one operating late - the express line was shut down early.

Closing this and routing everyone to the link above in the news forum - as a lengthy discussion is already underway.
