My dh and I have had this trip booked since May when free dining was announced. We had decided to not tell the kids, and we would find a good time to tell them. Probably within the last month and a half the 3 kids (ds 10, ds 8, and dd 5) have been asking when we can go back again. We've had discussions at the pool about favorite snacks there, rides, etc. I was so happy to know how badly they wanted to go again! :cloud9: My ds 8 just had his tonsils and adenoids removed and his turbinates shaved down yesterday. He's doing wonderfully by the way! Prior to that he was a little scared and I told him maybe he could have a surgery gift. One of the things he asked is a trip to Disney! I told him I didn't think that would be possible. But we would find him something. I was beyond elated to be able to tell him that yes we would be going. So, when he came out of surgery and we were able to go back to the recovery room the first thing he said was I was super brave mom, did you bring my gift? My dh and I then told him that we were indeed going to disney! He was so happy that he cried, and he said they were tears of joy!:cloud9: This made me feel so good to know he was so happy to go back and that my dh and I were able to surprise him. He came home that day and was able to announce very happily to his siblings that we were going back to Disney in September! You should've heard how loud my house was yesterday afternoon! Thanks for letting me share!:mickey:

Love love love your story! Brought a tear to my eye as well! Also hit home for me a bit. My DS5 is having the same surgery in just a few weeks, and I'm a nervous wreck.

We have Disney planned for 2 weeks after his surgery (end of August) and I was planning just about the same thing ... telling him after surgery. Praying everything goes well too.

Have a GREAT VACATION! :pixie:

Enjoy your trip! We will be there from the 16th to the 24th.

BTW, I wish someone would have woke me up from surgery with that kind of a surprise. :medic: But now I can see why they wouldn't. LOL

Congrats!
