Sword and the Stone [Archive]

I know they don't do the ceremony anymore, but is the Sword and the Stone still there? We took our children several years ago and had their pictures taken there and were wanting to try to recreate the scene.

It was there last September during MNSSHP...our DD23 happened to walk up to it and pull and it didn't do anything. Then after she let go, the sword started to rise out of the stone ....we have a picture of her looking at it like "what the heck?"

Yep, it was there last October too.
The very funny thing is when we got to it there were 3 guys ( about early 20's) pulling on it and it wouldn't move, then we walked up, my 13 yr old tried..nothing!! My 7 yr old walked up and pulled it up! :eek::funny:The look on his face was priceless, not to mention the look on the 3 guys faces too.

We laughed so hard. The 3 guys went back up to it but were not able to make it move. They then came up to us and said " he is very strong.":laughing:

Still there last month. I miss the ceremony too! It was a little something extra while we were waiting in line for the rides in that area.

I still have a "Temporary Ruler of the Realm" medallion. I was a bodyguard, and when the kid that was supposed to be the Ruler ran away, Merlin gave me the medallion.:thumbsup::mickey:

They may not do a ceremony, but each of my boys has pulled it "out" once. A CM came over and declared my son Prince for the Day. With much fanfare he received a sticker and certificate. It sure made him feel special. :mickey:
