July 18, 1955 – The Los Angeles Times announced the opening of Disneyland with a full page article named “Dream Realized… Disneyland Opens.”
July 18, 1955 – Roy O. Disney purchased the first ticket at Disneyland’s Main Gate. Disney paid $1.00 for the #1 ticket.
July 18, 1956 – Disney’s animated “Jack and Old Mac” was released.
July 18, 1956 – The Disney film “Davy Crockett and the River Pirates” was released.
July 18, 1962 – Actor Lee Arenberg, known for his role of Pintel in both Disney features “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” was born in Palo Alto, Ca.
July 18, 1965 – Disneyland’s attraction “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” opened on Main Street. (Closed Jan. 1, 1973)
July 18, 1965 – The “Plaza Inn” restaurant opened At Disneyland. (Replaced the Red Wagon Inn.)
July 18, 1967 – Actor Vin Diesel, the star of Disney’s 2005 comedy “The Pacifier,” was born in N.Y.C.
July 18, 1978 – The “Lake Buena Vista Office Plaza” (also known as Sun Bank Building) opened t WDW.
July 18, 1986 – Disney’s Foreign Theatrical release of the television cartoon “The Gummi Bears: A New Beginning” took place.
