July 14, 1975 – The Disney Co. announced plans to build the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, known as Epcot.
July 14, 1978 – “The American Egg House” opened on Main Street in Disneyland. (Closed Sept. 30, 1983)
July 14, 1981 – The “World on Ice,” Disney’s 1st edition in Ice Shows, premiered at an arena in East Rutherford, N.J.
July 14, 1989 – Disney’s 1953 “Peter Pan” was re-released in theaters for the 5th and final time.
July 14, 1994 – The 13th Walt Disney World Wine Festival, featuring wines of 75 winemakers and food prepared by Disney chefs, kicked off for 3-days at the Yacht and Beach Club Convention Center.
July 14, 1997 – George’s Treehouse from Disney’s film “George of the Jungle” was put on display along Residential Street as part of the Studios Backlot Tour at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW.
July 14, 1998 – Disney’s 1949 live-action film “So Dear To My Heart” was released on video.
July 14, 1998 – Today was “Spirit of Mickey Day” in Marceline, Missouri.
July 14, 1999 – The “Disney Wonder” departed from Venice, Italy (where she was built) en-route to Port Canaveral, Fl.
July 14, 2000 – Tokyo Disneyland welcomed its 250-millionth guest, Mrs. Hisae Do.
