July 5, 1988 - Maelstrom opened at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot along with the 70-mm film “Norway – The Film.”
July 5, 1989 – Tokyo Disneyland welcomed its 70 millionth guest.
July 5, 1990 – The pilot of the Disney TV series “Bar Girls” aired on CBS.
July 5, 1990 – The Disney Educational film “Rachel and Maria” was released.
July 5, 1991 – Actor Jason Dolley was born in Semi Valley, Ca. Disney Channel fans know him as Newt Livingston from the series “Cory in the House” and the star of the Disney Channel film “Minutemen,” as Virgil Fox.
July 5, 1994 – Hollywood Records released “Angels In The Outfield” an original Walt Disney Pictures soundtrack album.
July 5, 1996 – The 500th Disney Store opened in the Metro Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
July 5, 1997 – Disneyland welcomed Minnie Pepito as its 400-millionth guest.
July 5, 1998 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Spirit of Mickey” was released.
July 5, 2002 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “In Miranda Lizzie Does Not Trust” aired on the Disney Channel.

Although I wasn't there until about 10 years later...Tokyo Disneyland was my first brush with my beloved theme park! It was a memory that will always bring a smile to my face!
