July 1, 1959 – Disney’s Donald Duck film “How to Have an Accident at Work” was released.
July 1, 1959 – Popular Mechanics ran the article “Disneyland Adds Submarine and Monorail.”
July 1, 1960 – Future Disney Legend Antonio Bertini joined Disney as an assistant to the Company’s Italian sales representatives Major John “jack” William Holmes. Bertini had answered an anonymous ad in the local newspaper for a job. Little did he know at the time, the Company was Walt Disney Productions and he was about to embark on his life-long career.
July 1, 1966 – The “Primeval World” attraction, originally featured as part of the Ford Magic Skyway attraction for the 1964 to 1965 World’s Fair, debuted at Disneyland.
July 1, 1970 – Disney’s Comedy film, “The Boatniks,” starring Robert Morse, Stefanie Powers, Phil Silvers, Norman Fells, Wally Cox, Don Ameche, and Bob Hastings, was released.
July 1, 1975 - WEDway PeopleMover opened in TomorrowLand at the Magic Kingdom.
July 1, 1975 – Disney’s live-action comedy feature “The Apple Dumpling Gang” was released.
July 1, 1986 – WDW’S Magic Kingdom celebrated (Charles “Bub” David Thomas of the Dapper Dans) 75th birthday.
July 1, 1987 – The Disney film “Adventures in Babysitting” was released.
July 1, 1988 – The “Norway Pavilion” opened in World Showcase in Epcot at WDW.
