I have been seeing a lot of topics dealing with favorites and such. If you can remember, what was your first Disney ride, and did you like it?

My first trip to Disney World happened when I was 30 (late bloomer) My wife took me there for our honeymoon. The first ride I rode was The Haunted Mansion, and to this day it is still my favorite ride, and the first ride I ride when we get to the parks :)

Don't remember, but I was 3 and I'm told it was the Disneyland Railroad.

If we're talking WDW, it was Spaceship Earth.

Small World, at the New York World's Fair. First ride in a Disney Park - the train around the Magic Kingdom. We used our coupons!

Interesting you would ask...mine was also Haunted Mansion. I was in Disney with my husband who had gone lots of times. I didn't get it the first time - had expected a thrill ride -- lots of experience with Six Flags, Busch Gardens, etc. I got it the second time when I learned that Disney was all about the details.

It was small world or the teacups. (I was 3.) On my first "grown up" trip it was the Flights of Wonder show followed by EE.

I don't know the answer to that, as I was only 9 months old.

First ride I have a VIVID memory of: World of Motion. I have no idea how old I was. Probably 3 or 4.

Hummmmm...... the Tram and later Steam Train at Fort Wilderness back in 1972. Then it was the boat (a 37 ft. Morgan Yacht) that transported guest from Ft Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom. The ONLY Park.

Horse drawn trolly down Main Street USA.
Steam Train around MK - No Toon Town Station
The Skyway
Monsanto - America The Beautiful
Nick Russo and Gabriels Brass behind the Carrousel
Country Bear and BIG AL - (one of Dad's favorites)
Haunted Mansion - ONLY after dark!

I know I'm dating myself.....and I keep coming back for More.

92 Days and we'll be walking down Main Street USA again!

I was 16 for my first WDW trip and I went with my brother and his friend. I think my first ride was either space mountian or carosel of progress. COP is still a favorite of mine. I like SM but my body is not fond of it anymore makes me ache when I get off.:(

I was 16 on my first trip with my High School. As soon as we hit the park we ran right to Space Mountain!

The first Disney ride I had ever rudder was It's A Small World at the World's Fair. I was only 3.

My first ride in a Disney Park was when I was 15: Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. I thought, "it can't get much better than this!". I was blown away.

Went to WDW the following year for one day. It rained. Rode POTC and the Haunted Mansion. Did not return until I was 39. Now, it's a tradition.

Still, there's nothing like the first time you ride Disneyland's Pirates!!!! Nothing.

Carousel of Progress at the New York World's Fair. I also saw Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, the Ford Ride, and it's a small world. That is what started my lifelong love of Disney!

I was 17 and came as an exchange student from Sweden. My first WDW-ride was Spaceship Earth and I hade never seen anything like it! Now, 22 years later, I still go back to Florida every other year and I always go back to Disney World (with my 2 DDs and my wonderful DH) - and yes - one of favourite rides is still Spaceship Earth!

My first ride at Walt Disney World was The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. I really enjoyed it, but honestly I think I would have enjoyed anything. I did not take my first trip to DW until I was 18 and I was just so excited to be there.:mickey:

Long time ago Feb 1977 on our honeymoon,we read that everyone comes up Mainstreet and goes to the right,so we went to the left. The first attraction was Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, but as far as the first ride, it was the Jungle Cruise.....

Awesome thread! Though I can't say for sure, because I don't remember clearly that far back, the first ride I remember riding was the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland in the early 80's. I distinctly remember being scared, and wiggling out from under the lap bar and trying to huddle completely under the domed cover of the foot space in our Doombuggy. Not something I recommend now that I'm a responsible adult of course, but I was about 5 at the time and my parents couldn't exactly reach me to drag me back up onto the seat from there! I clearly remember peaking my head out the side of the Doombuggy in the graveyard scene! That's about all I remember from that ride though.

This thread also reminded me of a fact I just learned about my dad on our last trip to WDW last year - My dad has had the distinct privilege of riding the Carousel of Progress in all three if it’s homes – he rode it as a child at the NY World’s Fair, again at Disneyland in his teens, and then again at Disney World as an adult! I find this fact to be incredibly cool! (I’m that much of a Disney nerd though:secret::blush:)

Alien Encounter was my first ride in 1998. I've heard many people say they didn't like it but I loved it. Wish they would bring it back.

The first, I think, was the Jungle cruise at DLR in 1973. As far as WDW goes, I think thr same. In fact, the Jungle Cruise is usually my first ride to this day. I love it!

When I was a kid I loved the movie 20k leagues under the sea, so I forced my parents to get in line for that first. We rode it three times. Nemo was what started my fascination with villains.

On our first visit in 1982 my DS and I headed directly for POC and it became the first ride with every visit after. On those early 80's trips we would take in another ride on POC and maybe some breakfast before heading for 20,000 Leagues which usually opened an hour after everything for some reason and would have a huge line throughout the rest of the day.

My first WDW experience, other than walking through Main St., wasn't really a ride, although it felt like one. It was the old Circlevision 360 Theatre. It was in the building where the Laugh Floor Comedy Club is now in Tomorrowland. There were no seats, everybody had to stand, with railings for you to hang on to. The name of the film was America the Beautiful, and the part of the movie I best remember was an open cockpit airplane flight, with barrel rolls and loops. It was pretty hard not to fall over if you weren't holding on to the railing. :D

Mom doesn't have the wits about her to help me with this one.
I only remember the first ride I refused to ride on my first trip to Disneyland. It was Adventures Through Innerspace. That queue scared me. Watching the riders go into the microscope and being shrank. Well it was a no go for me. I think my first ride that I rode was Storybook Land Canal Boats. I have vague yet fond memories of that ride.
