Man it is 102 degree's right now here, that's pretty hot for Minnesota.

Just saw on the news this is the Hottest for us since July 1988, we are the hottest city in the US right now and only the 2nd time we hit 100 this century.

Boy, weather must be crazy everywhere. Here in Northern California we're having a record LOW for June! It was POURING down rain this last weekend (unheard of!) and they're saying there's a chance of rain this upcoming weekend. It's 76 here today and that's the warmest it's been in quite a while.

It's all of 71 degrees today in SOUTHERN California! It's nice, but it's unusual.

Actually, not strange at all. When you get a really high amplitude high over one part of the country (HOT) then you have an equally powerful trough over another part of the country (cold). Generally if you're getting record highs on one coast, you're getting record lows on the other. The difference with the heat this year is that the eastern has been a little drier than normal with the La Nina and so the sun isn't having to work to evaporate moisture. Hence the higher temps. So, unusual in the intensity, but not the event (I'm sure someone will want to scream "global warming" eventually). However, I find it entirely unfair that WDW is 10 degrees cooler than I am in Alabama. The only thing that brings me solace about not going to WDW in the summer is it's always hotter there than where I am. Not this week!

I remember quite a 100+ degree days growing up in MN (which was in the last century, but not that long ago!) ;)

If it makes you feel any better we've had 98-105 degree temps for the last 4-5 days down here in Houston. That is hot, even for us. :)

I am guessing they meant the 21st century. I am glad the temp goes way down to the 70's for the next few days. You would think after a long cold snowy winter we shouldn't complain but 100 is to hot for anyone. Don't know how these military people can do this when it's even hotter and have to wear the uniform and equipment.

Oh, sure. Rub it in. I would say we'll see who's laughing come August, but it's not much better here in Alabama then either. :D

We had 104 here this afternoon. It was way too hot.
My 7 yr olds school only has air conditioning in the library & music- art rooms. His poor teacher is 2 weeks away from her due date and looks so uncomfortable.
The school district has 6 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 2 high schools, but our elementary is the only one without air.

HOT HOT HOT here in Jersey!!!

I will be picking my hot cranky daughters up promptly from school and whisking them off to the town pool, where they can cool down!!!!

No air-conditioning in any part of their school except the library.

Tomorrow is suppose to go to 100...I wonder if they will call a half day?? Always fun for a working parent!

I am told it was in the 90's here the past few days, which is pretty high for the Chicago area at this time of year. Of course we were in FL and missed it! Got back las night in the midst of a massive storm and the temp. has dropped into the 60's. Crazy! It actually feels cold today and rainy here.
