June 6, 1984 – Disney Chairman Ray Watson met with Jack Wrather, owner of the Wrather Corp., which owns the Disneyland Hotel. They discussed the possibility of Wrather selling the hotel to Disney.
June 6, 1985 – The “Bearly Country” Shop opened in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. (Closed Feb. 25, 1991)
June 6, 1987 – The attraction “If You Could Fly,” sponsored by Delta, opened in Tomorrowland at WDW, replacing “If You Had Wings,” sponsored by Eastern Airlines. (Closed Jan. 3, 1989)
June 6, 1988 - Disney’s Grand Floridian Beach Resort opened at WDW.
June 6, 1989 – Hulk Hogan appeared as himself on the Disney Channel’s episode of MMC. “Today is Guest Day!”
June 6, 1993 – The “Les Pirouettes de Vieux Moulin” (Ferris Wheel) opened in Fantasyland at Disneyland Paris.
June 6, 1995 – Ground was broken on the Walt Disney World Speedway.
June 6, 1997 – “Festival Disney” was officially renamed “Disney Village” at Disneyland Paris.
June 6, 1997 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Con Air” was released.
June 6, 1999 – The popular childrens series “Bear in the Big Blue House” debuted on Soundstage 5 in the Animation Courtyard at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW.
