June 5, 1987 – The Disney film “Benji the Hunted” had its initial release in Dallas, Tx. (General release was June 19, 1987)
June 5, 1987 – Disney marked the 50th anniversary of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” with a reunion of performers who had assisted in the portrayal of Snow White at the theme parks.
June 5, 1988 – The Disney Channel Premiere film “Night Train to Kathmandu” aired.
June 5, 1989 – The Disney Channel aired the episode of MMC, “Today is Music Day!”
June 5, 1995 – WDW formally announced its newest project…Animal Kingdom. (Construction would begin in August 1995)
June 5, 1998 – Disney’s animated feature film “Mulan” premiered at the Hollywood Bowl in Ca.
June 5, 1999 - The Best of Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance opened at The American Adventure in Epcot.
June 5, 1999 – “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” attraction opened in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. (Replaced “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.)
June 5, 1999 – Disney’s newest stage musical Der “Glockner von Notre Dame” opened at the Musical Theatre Berlin in Berlin, Germany.
June 5, 2000 – The 3 ½ minute Disney/Pixar short “For The Birds” was released at the Annecy Film Festival in France.
