May 21, 1954 – The Disney short “Johnny Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet” was released.
May 21, 1957 – Actor Judge Reinhold, Neil Miller in Disney’s live-action features “The Santa Clause: The Escape Clause,” The Santa Clause 2: The Mrs. Clause,” and “The Santa Clause,” was born in Wilmington, De.
May 21, 1961 – The Disney TV show aired “Wonders of the Water World.”
May 21, 1990 – The Disney-MGM Studios show “Dick Tracy Starring in Diamond Double-Cross” opened to guest at WDW. (Ended Feb. 16, 1991)
May 21, 1990 – Disney’s syndicated TV special “Scorsese” aired on CBS.
May 21, 1993 – CBS aired the 2nd part of the Disney special “The Best of Disney Music: A Legacy in Song”.
May 21, 1998 – The newly renovated Tomorrowland was unveiled at Disneyland.
May 21, 1999 – “Disney Presents: Bill Nye the Science Guy” won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Children’s Series.
May 21, 2001 – Disney turned the aircraft carrier John C. Stennis, anchored in Hawaii, into a party ship and outdoor movie theater for 2000 guests for the premiere of the summer blockbuster “Pearl Harbor”.
May 21, 2005 – Howard Morris, the voice of Gopher in Disney’s Winnie-the-Pooh features, passed away in Los Angeles, Ca. (Since the early 1960’s, he has been a main staple of the Hanna-Barbera Productions vocal team, offering hundreds of voices for The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. As a director Morris was responsible for the classic black-and-white pilot of TV’s Get Smart.)
