May 14, 1961 – Part 2 of the Disney TV Show “Andrews’ Raiders,” titled Escape to Nowhere, aired. (Part 1 aired May 7, 1961)
May 14, 1971 – Walt Disney Productions released “the Aristocats” (the 20th animated feature in the Disney animated features canon) in Argentina.
May 14, 1972 – Sotheby’s held the 1st auction devoted to Disneyana in Los Angeles, Ca.
May 14, 1977 – TV Guide featured an article on “The New Mickey Mouse Club.”
May 14, 1978 – The Disney two-hour television movie “Child of Glass” aired.
May 14, 1986 - The Land Grille Room opened in the Land Pavilion which replaced The Good Turn Restaurant. (Closed Oct. 4, 1993)
May 14, 1991 – The “BonaFamille’s Café” opened at Port Orleans Resort in WDW.
May 14, 1992 – CBS This Morning broadcast segments from Disneyland. Weatherman Mark McEwen plugs various attractions at Disneyland, such as “Fantasmic!,” and then delivered the nations weather forecast. And Disney’s popular barbershop harmony group, The Dapper Dans opened a segment of the show by entering on a fire truck, and singing and playing the CBS This Morning theme song: “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning.”
May 14, 1999 – Walt Disney Pictures 1982 computer-animated feature “Tron” returned for a special one-week limited engagement at the El Capitan Theatre in Ca.
May 14, 1999 – The Disney film “Endurance,” a true story of Ethiopian long distance runner Haile Gebrselassie, was released
