May 5, 1985 – The Disney Channel TV movie “The Undergrads” aired.
May 5, 1987 – Disneyland introduced Disney Dollars, its line of currency features Mickey Mouse on the $1 bill, and Goofy on the $5 bill.
May 5, 1989 – The Disney Channel aired episode 10 of MMC “Today is Hall of Fame Day!”
May 5, 1990 – Disney’s animated TV series “Tale Spin” premiered on The Disney Channel.
May 5, 1995 – The ABC TV sitcom “Family Matters” debuted part-2 of the episode “We’re Going to Disney World.”
May 5, 2001 – Disney’s famed trio of songbirds, “The Three Caballero’s”, were reunited for a special Cinco de Mayo episode of “Disney’s House of Mouse”, on ABC-TV.
May 5, 2001 – An area of Disneyland closed to the public after a large cork oak tree fell down, the section later reopened.
May 5, 2001 – the 4th Annual Disneyana Shop Celebration took place at the Disneyland Resort. The first 1000 guests who visit the Disneyana Shop on Main Street, receive a free-limited mini-lithograph.
May 5, 2001 – On her birthday, Disney Legend Ilene Woods, the original voice of Cinderella united with the voice of Sleeping Beauty, fellow Legend Mary Costa, for a Cinderella Birthday Ball held in Knoxville, Tn. Benefiting Childhelp U.S.A.
May 5, 2004 – The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror had its official opening at Disney’s California Adventure.
