Apr. 24, 1959 – The Walt Disney Presents TV series aired “The Wetback Hound.”
Apr. 24, 1985 – Actress Courtnee Draper was born in Orlando, Fl. Her Disney Channel credits include the series “The Jersey” (as Morgan Hudson), and the Disney Channel Original Movies “The Thirteenth Year” (as Sam), and “Stepsister from the Planet Weird” (as Megan Larson).
Apr. 24, 1989 – “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” debuted on The Disney Channel.
Apr. 24, 1989 – The serial “Teen Angel” began airing on the Mickey Mouse Club. (Ended May 19, 1989)
Apr. 24, 1992 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “Passed Away” was released.
Apr. 24, 2007 – Taping began for Disney Channel Games at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Fl. Celebrities took part in the 4-day event including Miley Cyrus of “Hannah Montana,” Kyle Massey of “Cory in the House,” Monique Coleman, Ashley Tisdale, and Lucas Grabiel of “High School Musical,” Corbin Bleu of “jump In!,” and Cole and Dylan Sprouse of “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.”
Apr. 24, 2007 – Disney Channel debuted the “Hannah Montana” episode “Cuff Will Keep Us Together” for the first time.
Apr. 24, 2009 – Imagineering legend Marty Sklar announced in a letter to “All Imagineers” that he will say “goodbye” to Walt Disney Imagineering on July 17th. A Disney Legend, Sklar began as a Disney Cast Member 53 years ago at Disneyland’s public relations department and joined WED Enterprises in 1961.
Apr. 24, 2009 – The Food and Wine Festival opened for its 4th consecutive year at Disney’s California Adventure (ran for 45 days)
