Short of taking off to DW, what are some good ways to ease the broken heart of your teenager?

I am only 25, so I can still remember how hard it was to be a teenager.

Music always helped me, a lot. It's nice to hear that you aren't alone in your feelings, and music is a great way to express that. My mom would always recommend music that SHE would listen to as a teenager. This opened up some great music to me, for later in life, as well.

Help them find themselves again. Some of the hardest parts of a broken heart are remember who you are as a person. Encourage them to take up some hobbies, or do something together. Try pottery, hiking, camping, taking cooking classes, something like that!

A hug, look your child in the eyes and tell them how much you love them and that your there to talk if they want to.

not that you haven't already done that.

But rinse and repeat as often as possible.

Get them a nice journal from the bookstore. It's cathartic to write and you can destroy the journal later if you choose. It's kind of symbolic and can help you move on.
