Mar. 30, 1968 – Singer Celine Dion, whose Duet “Beauty and the Beast” with Peabo Bryon which was released in 1992, was born in Quebec, Canada.
Mar. 30, 1989 – The World’s Largest Twist Party took place when 2,248 “twisters” joined singer Chubby Checker (known for his hit (Let’s Twist Again”) at Disneyland, as part of the “Blast to the Past” celebration!
Mar. 30, 1992 – Singer Celine Dion, celebrated her 24th birthday by singing with Peabo Bryon on their Oscar nominated theme song “Beauty and the Beast”, at the 64th Annual Academy Awards held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. They also won Best Song, and a Oscar for Original Score.
Mar. 30, 1997 – “The Walt Disney World Happy Easter Parade” aired on ABC.
Mar. 30, 2000 – Disney’s one-hour TV drama “Wonderland” debuted on ABC. (Ended Apr. 6, 2000 after only 2 episodes)
Mar. 30, 2000 – Actress Heather Headley debuted as Aida in Disney’s Broadway show “Aida.”
Mar. 30, 2003 - The Inaugural Walt Disney World Inline Marathon took place at WDW. The 26.2 mile course was created by Disney Sports attractions along with the International Skating Association.
Mar. 30, 2004 – Disney’s “Brother Bear” was released on DVD and VHS.
Mar. 30, 2004 – Fess Parker (known for his Disney role of Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone) appeared in Washington, D.C. to donate one of his original caps as well as a buck skin ensemble to the Smithsonian National Museum.
Mar. 30, 2004 – The Orlando Sentinel ran an article in which Disney World President Al Weiss gave some insight into how the parks are maintained.
