My DH got up bright and early to go get FP for RRC and ToT. When he got to the FP kiosk he was told he could only get a FP for himself because our tickets had not been validated by a park entrance yet today! Has anyone else had this happen? How long has this been a rule?

The parks have been so crowded this week!!!!! The worst I have seen in 36 years which includes 4 other Spring Break trips.

Yes, this is the way FP works. You can only get a FP for tickets that have been used to enter the park for the day.

I'm sorry it is so crowded though!

This has been the rule for as long as I can remember.

This has always been the rule as far as I know. Spring break can be crazy busy! I hope it calms down for you a bit! :mickey:

Live and learn. :)

Yeah, it's always been that way. Disney doesn't really make that very clear in their media that explains FP, but it is mostly a common sense thing. Otherwise, people could really abuse the FP system...

Hope the crowds still allow you to have an enjoyable vacation. Seems like a lot more people are vacationing this year than last year.

Yes, it has always been that way. I have also experienced trouble getting fast passes because my annual pass had "deactivated" and it didn't show me as having entered the park.

Yes, I learned that lesson the hard way once after getting up early and walking through Epcot to get fastpasses for Soarin for the family, only have to go back because I couldn't them. It was in August too so it was a real cool, comfortable morning in Orlando.

My mom tried to do this back in 2002. They were nice enough to just explain the rules but still give her complementary passes for her troubles. Sorry!

Do the park tickets have to be activated in that park or can they be activated in one park and used to get fastpasses in another park?

Welcome to the INTERCOT boards! You have to use the park tickets to get into the park you want to get Fastpasses in.

You can only get fastpasses from a park if it's been used at that same park's turnstyles.

I suspect you need to have entered the park in which you are trying to get the fast passes. If you don't enter that turnstyle, you don't have admission to that park and to the fast passes in that park.
