Just got home from Disney.. We had a fabulous dinner at Ohana located at the Polynesian Resort. It was a meat lover's dream!!!! The entertainment was great too. They had games for the kids to play at some point of the meal. Every bite we took was wonderful. I def recommend this restaurant to people who want to try something different. We are so glad we did. We will make it a must do everytime we go!

This encourages me - We've reserved our first visit to Ohana in September based purely on my speculation that it looks tasty!

We tried Ohana for the first time last October and it easily became a must-do for us. Can't wait to go back in December!

Definite must do. I've seen some complaints that the meat was overdone and dry. Well, it's fire roasted on a spit, so that can happen. But we've never had bad food or bad service. It is on our "always, absolutely, must do" list.

'Ohana is our favorite "Family" dining place at WDW. We have been there on every trip except our first one.

Glad you enjoyed it. We tried it for the first time last year and loved it so much that we're eating there twice on our next trip.
I can kick myself for not trying it earlier. All those years past we could have been enjoying one of the best restaurants in WDW.

I used to love Ohana until I got food poisoning  and it ruined the final day of my trip one time. Sadly even the thought of going back makes me was to :ack:

We have a 7:50 reservation for this. There is 4 of us, Dh, Me, DD(7), DD(4). We will be there on DD(4)'s actual Birthday. My question is will be done eating in time to be able to see the water pageant? I remember it from when I was a kid and would love for them to see this.

With a 7:50 reservation, it might be a bit tight to finish in time to see the Water Pageant particularly if you have a wait to be seated which often occurs at this restaurant.

The Schedule:

Polynesian -- 9:00 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Ft. Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary -- 10:05 p.m.

I hadn't been to this restaurant for quite some time as I recall a rather mediocre meal here. Dined here a few weeks ago and it was very good! I'd certainly go again. In fact, I have a reservation for my next trip!

Ohana = Great in my book. Warning for first timers. Go hungry. Don't have an afternoon snack or late lunch. Actually you might want to skip lunch that day. A lot of food (and it's all good). I have always left very full and very happy.

Since I have never been there is there an area of the restaurant that you can see the parade from or will they let you go out and watch it?

I have enjoyed many joyous meals there with my friends. The food is delicious and the setting is wonderful. Plus, they serve a drink called a Lapu-lapu which is served in a hollowed-out pineapple! Delicious and festive! Enjoy!
