Do fast passes expire? We were at MK yesterday and have FP for Thunder Mountain that we couldn't use because the park was so crowded that we couldn't get our DD back to that area in her wheelchair!!! The crowds yesterday were insane!!!

Thanks!

Yes, they do expire. If the FastPass says to return between 3:13pm and 4:13pm, at 4:14pm that FP is expired, although not all CMs are that strict about enforcing that. They'll often allow a few minutes leeway.

As this has been discussed here from time to time, the practice has been that only the date and the start time are enforced. A Fast Pass issued on a specific date will normally be accepted from the start of the time window until the close of the park that date. The policy, rarely enforced, is that they are good only during the stated time window. Policy trumps practice when the park is unusually crowded. Otherwise, CM's do accept them after the window. We have usually visited in June and July, and have never been denied use of a same day FP, well past the time window.

We've used are FP's several times past there "return time" and have never had any problems with CM's not allowing us in.

There are only two real DEFINITES for FastPasses:

1) You cannot use them BEFORE the beginning of the time window stamped on the FastPass

2) You cannot use then on a different day than what is stamped on the FastPass

Other than that, it is up to the discretion of the attraction CM whether or not to accept them after the one hour window. Be happy if you CAN use them outside the one hour window, but do NOT be surprised/upset/disappointed if you cannot.

I have used FPs past the return time window but it is not a sure thing. I have also been turned away with FPs past the return window. It really depends on the CM and the attraction. They use to be really strict at Soarin since the wait is so long. The best practice is to use them during the return window.

If you ever get turned away because the time on your pass has expired- keep it and return a little later when a different cast member is checking them

very good point. For the most part, the FP policy is to except FP past the time window because it avoids guest conflict. What if little jimmy got sick, or your lunch ran long, or you got lost, or 1000 other reasons guests could have an issue. It just makes for a better guest experience, and since they don't advertise that you can be late, a majority of people come within their time window

just came back last week and used FP's well past the expiry, not on purpose but it happened (also used them during the window). Did this on Soarin, space mtn, everest, big thunder mtn, and winnie the pooh. it was never given a second thought.

We have practiced for years using fp's after the window...actually a CM told us YEARS ago that most would accept them....BUT, we have gotten some very funny looks from guests whom we try to give fp's to being expired, they don't believe us that they are still good !!

I've spoken with many Attractions cast members, all of whom reported they are trained to accept late, same-day FASTPASSes. They are tasught to do so.

But like with anything else, not every employee follows every rule correctly. I second the advice that if you get turned away, just go back when a different CM is working the FASTPASS return entrance.
