What Happened to Fountain of Nations?

Did I miss something? Some announcement about the Fountain of Nations not working anymore?

The last three trips (Dec 2008, Jan 2010, Jan/Feb 2011) I go to Epcot expecting to see and hear the FoN, and find that it's not doing it's show. I love that exhibit - what happened to it?

I'm there a lot and it's always working. Maybe you just walked by an at odd time. :confused:

There has been ongoing work on the areas surrounding the fountain, but that hasn't affected the shows as far as I know.

No, I walk by it a lot and it hasn't been operational. In Jan 2010, I sat on a bench that faces the fountain while my son slept in the stroller. This was mid-day and we were there for 45 minutes at least.

I've been there on windy days, cold days, and even 80 degree days in the dead of winter, and still haven't caught in 3 trips.

We saw the fountain show several times during our week there in April 2010.

I do know that when it's excessively windy or cold, they don't do it, because the mist blows all over the area and guests don't appreciate being wet under those circumstances.

When I went one year in February (2007?), the fountain was only on ONE day during our week trip (that we saw) and that was on a VERY warm and sunny day. The previous days that week had been cold and rainy.

Weird. Sounds like coincidence. I can't recall in the almost two years I've been living here and going regularly to the park (Epcot specifically) that I haven't seen the Fountain of Nations show.

My aunt was there 2 weeks ago and she said it was working.

I was there Feb 16 and it was working just fine. We spent a good hour in the vacinity just people watching and fountain watching.

We were there in May 2010 and the fountain was working every time we were there. In fact, we wanted to be sure & catch a "show" so we asked a CM how frequently they did them. We were told shows were every 20 mins, and that held true every time we were there. Top of the hour seemed to be the best time, but we did notice that there we muliple shows featuring different music & effects. My DD18 is heading down the end of the month so I'll have her check it out too.

It was working just fine when we were there after Thanksgiving.

It won't run if the wind is above a certain speed. That may have a lot to do with why you haven't seen it running.

We were there in July 2010 and watched the show during one of our visits at EPCOT.

I was there in October 2010 and we viewed the fountain of Nations during the day and at night. Not sure what the scheduling was but my sister and I sat there in the evening until the water, music and lights started as we wanted to get some photos!

Was there the 2nd week of Jan 2011 when weather was in the 40's & fountains were working just fine then.

We were there the last week of January, and all was good with the fountain. :confused:

The fountain is fine. Saturday we saw at least three 'shows'.

September 2010 it was NOT working when we were there. February 2011 it WAS working! No idea why...but we love having ice-cream at fountainview and watching the show!

We were there in October and it was working.
I have never been there when it was not working. Hope it is working next time you are

The fountain worked just fine in October when I was there. Haven't heard any reports of it having issues anywhere else.
