Feb. 25, 1980 – Disney’s “The Black Hole” was nominated for 2 Academy Awards.
Feb. 25, 1981 – Walt Disney Productions and CBS agree to move Disney’s long running show to CBS.
Feb. 25, 1986 – Actor Justin Berfield was born in Los Angeles, Ca. Best Known for his role on the hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, Disney fans will know him as the voice of Gil in “Kim Possible,” and Caption Writer in “Max Keeble’s Big Move.”
Feb. 25, 1988 – The Disney TV special “Disney’s Totally Minnie” aired on NBC.
Feb. 25, 1991 – The “Bearly Asleep” shop opened in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Feb. 25, 1999 – Disney’s “Mulan” won Best Children’s Movie” at the 22nd Annual International Angel Awards.
Feb. 25, 1999 – Disney replaced Robert Iger at the helm of ABC with Steve Bornstein and named Iger the President of Walt Disney International, the business unit that oversees Disney’s international operations, as well as Chairman of the ABC Group.
Feb. 25, 2000 – Previews began for Disney’s “Aida” at the palace Theater in New York which would officially open March 23, 2000.
Feb. 25, 2001 – Disney launched their new “Magic Happens” advertisement campaign during ABC’s “Wonderful World of Disney”. The corporate image campaign featured something rarely seen in the advertisement business; a detailed 90 second commercial.
Feb. 25, 2003 – Monkees singer/drummer Micky Dolenz began touring as Zoser in Disney’s “Aida” at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers, Fl. (In 2004 he would play the role on Broadway.)
