Feb. 16, 1984 - Disney’s “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” was nominated for an Academy Award.
Feb. 16, 1986 – The Disney TV show “The Last Electric Knight” and “2 ½ Dads” aired.
Feb. 16, 1991 – The Disney-MGM Studios show “Dick Tracy Starring in Diamond Double-Cross” closed.
Feb. 16, 1993 - Sharon Disney Lund, the 2nd daughter of Walt Disney, died from cancer at the age of 56.
Feb. 16, 1994 - Disney commits $500,000 to create Disney GOALS, a program designed to offer organized athletics, education, and community service to under privileged youths.
Feb. 16, 1996 – The Disney film “Muppett Treasure Island” was released.
Feb. 16, 1996 – The Disney Touchstone film “Mr. Wrong” starring Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Pullman, Joan Cosask, Dean Stockwell, Joan Plowright, Peter Ehite, and Polly Holliday, was released.
Feb. 16, 2000 - Mickey Mouse, President of the Disneyland Resort Cynthia Harris, the Disneyland Millennium Ambassador Team of Dean Mitter and Jennifer Simis, and 600 school children and Disneyland cast members gathered in front of Main Street Railroad Station to begin Disneyland’s 45th Anniversary Celebration along with singer Kenny Loggins performing “Your Heart Will Lead You Home” from “The Tigger Movie”.
Feb. 16, 2001 - Disney’s “Recess: Schools Out” was released in theaters.
Feb. 16, 2001 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “Motocrossed,” about a girl named Andrea Carson (played by Alana Austin) who loves motocross, despite the fact that her father finds her unsuited for the sport, debuted.

This was the first movie we took DS to see in a theater for his birthday - LOVE that song!
