Feb. 6, 1956 – Animator Floyd E. Norman was issued his Walt Disney Productions employee ID Card (#6935). Norman would continue to work there through 1966, the last year of Walt’s life.
Feb. 6, 1957 - Actress Kathy Najimy, Dr, Feemis in Disney World’s Alien Encounter, and the voice of Thepis in Disney’s 1998 TV series of “Hercules” was born in San Diego, Ca.
Feb. 6, 1959 – The Disney TV show aired episode 5 of “Elfrego Baca: Attorney at Law.”
Feb. 6, 1960 – Ben-Hur won the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Motion Pictures, beating out 12 other films including Disney’s “The Shaggy Dog.”
Feb. 6, 1962 – Roy Atwell, the voice of Doc in Disney’s 1937 animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, passed away in N.Y.C.
Feb. 6, 1965 – The DGA Award (presented by Directors Guild of America) was presented at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in N.Y.C., and the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. “Mary Poppins,” nominated for Best Picture, was edged out by My Fair Lady.
Feb. 6, 1971 – Actor Brian Stepanek, best known for his comedic role of Arwin the misfit hotel janitor on the Disney Channel sitcom “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” was born in Cleveland, Oh.
Feb. 6, 1972 – Disney’s part-1 of the 2-part television show “Justin Morgan Had a Horse” aired. (Part-2 aired Feb. 13, 1972)
Feb. 6, 1975 – The Disney film “The Strongest Man in the World” was released.
Feb. 6, 1977 – The Disney TV movie “Barry of the Great St. Bernard” aired.
