Late today my best friend's grandmother passed away. It was anything but expected. She was healthy and fell earlier today. The fall evidently caused a blood clot that later spread to her heart.
This was one of the most amazing women I knew. She was everyone's grandmother. She survived ovarian cancer, losing her husband and still remained a strong, independent, fiesty women. Working even today in the local elementary school as a volunteer because she loved the kids but more then anything they loved her. I grew up calling her grandma, spending afternoons at her house. When I got engaged she was one the first people I rushed to tell, closer to her then many of my own relatives. Being 600 miles from home is not making this any easier.
I can't express the shock and grief that her family and all of her extended family are experiencing right now. Prayers and pixie dust during this extremely difficult time would be greatly appreciated.
