As posted in another thread, we recently returned from a somewhat disappointing first cruise with Carnival (great ports of call; not so great everything else :( ). Anyway, after the cruise we drove up to Vero Beach for a few extra days of relaxation and a few hundred loads of wash for Mom to do.

This was our first stay here and what a wonderful little resort it is. Beautiful, clean, well-maintained...a real gem. (FYI: 2 bedroom villa) The pool area was great, and the beach was beautiful. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely go back again.

Having the good fortune of living only about 75 miles from VB, we visit there often, sometimes on points, sometimes on a cash basis. We've never been disappointed. It's a beautiful resort with a great staff, wonderful beach and pool, and two very good restaurants. It's also close to two of our very favorite restaurants in Sebastian - - Captain Hiram's and Squid Lips. We've even been known to drive down there just for a day trip for lunch, dinner or a few adult beverages on the second floor balcony of the Green Cabin Room overlooking the ocean.

Well Ed, if only I had known about your favorite restaurants in Sebastian before our trip. We chose to dine at Mulligans one night...BIG MISTAKE! Should have tried one on your list, or better yet just stayed onsite and ate at Shutters again. Now that was delicious! :cloud9:

Yep, Mulligan's can be "iffy". We ate there on one trip and it was great. Next time, we had friends with us, and it was terrible. So much for impressing the friends.

The ones in Sebastian are great, and only about a ten-fifteen minute drive away.

At Shutters, we've always been satisfied, and Sonya's is even better.

We always talk about staying here and it sounds like everyone really likes it. Thanks for the info.
