Jan. 30, 1977 – Part 1 of Disney’s 2-part TV show “Barry of the Great St. Bernard,” aired. (Part 2 aired Feb. 6, 1977)
Jan. 30, 1980 – Singer-songwriter Josh Kelley was born in Augusta, Ga. Signed to Disney’s Hollywood Records since 2002, many of his songs have appeared on such soundtracks as “A Christmas Story,” “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” and Brother Bear 2.”
Jan. 30, 1987 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Outrageous Fortune” was released.
Jan. 30, 1988 - Illuminations made its official debut replacing Laserphonic Fantasy.
Jan. 30, 1990 - Actor Jake Thomas, Matt McGuire on Disney’s sitcom “Lizzie McGuire”, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Jan. 30, 1994 - Epcot Computer Central closed in CommuniCore East.
Jan. 30, 1994 – At Super Bowl XXVIII (in Atlanta) Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith shouted “I’m going to Disney World!” following his team’s 30-13 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Jan. 30, 1995 - The “Circle of Life” film officially opened in the Land Pavilion in Future World at Epcot in WDW.
Jan. 30, 1995 – At the 22nd American Music Awards, “The Lion King” soundtrack won Favorite Pop/Rock Album!
Jan. 30, 1996 – The “Olde World Antiques” shop closed in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
