How difficult is it to get a 2BR unit at the Beach Club? We stayed at Old Key West on our last trip and loved it. We were thinking about trying BCV but every date I search for a 12 night stay is coming up unavailable. Is it at all possible to book?

We tried to stay there on our trip in September. We own points at HHI, so we had to wait for the 7-month window. Even with 7 months we could only book half our stay there and wait list for the remaining days. Nothing opened up, so we ended up moving over to Boardwalk for our last 4 nights. Our total trip was 6 nights.

Thank you. We are a family of 6, go for a longer vacation, and have no desire to pack and move everyone mid trip. We did that on our last trip (18 days) and it wasn't fun. Now what? I wonder how difficult it is for DVC members that have BCV as their home resort to book villas for extended stays there?

We're a family of 6 as well and it wasn't awful to move, but we don't want to do it again. We only did it because 2 of our kids had never stayed @ BCV before and we love the pool there.
I got to talk to a BCV points owner one night in the hot tub. She and her husband like to book 2-week stays every year. She said she always has problems booking for that long, even when she calls on the first day of her 11-month window. She said the problem is all the RCI owners who use their points @ Disney.

I don't see how it's the RCI owners who are the problem, they don't get access to the resort before the 11 month window. It seems like this person thinks lowly of RCI owners and wants to blame them. I don't know the real reason they can't book it, but if you think about it, RCI owners can't be the problem.

I'm assuming since you were searching that this is a cash res? I would probably try giving res a call. IMO, the online system sometimes has a habit of trying to direct you to where it wants you to stay.

I was just able to book at 1BR at BCV for 8 nights in August 2011 at the 7-month window. There were 4 remaining for DVC when I booked that. I think 2BR go much faster for some reason.
If you are paying cash I agree with the prior post, you should call as the online system does seem to steer people where it "wants" them to be, not what they're specifically looking for.
Good Luck!
