is it cheaper to buy passholders on the website than at the gates or is there a price increase at the gate? also will it be easier online i wonder because if you are adding in the factor of the dvc discount, is it easier to purchase online or at mk guest services? last time we bought passholders, we upgraded them at check in bc we wanted the free dining so i dont know what the price difference is.. please help right away! thank you again wonderful disney people!

Last year we ordered over the phone when we made our reservations and picked them up at DTD since we were eating diner there our first night. It was cheaper for us to pay in advance as the prices went up the next week (every August). Other than this, it should be the same price either way.

If you are buying from Disney, there is no price difference between buying online and buying in-person at a resort hotel or at the gate.

There's also no difference in price between buying a "big" ticket to begin with versus buying a "small" ticket and upgrading it during your trip.

In other words, buying a 2-day base ticket in advance and then during your trip upgrading it to a 7-day park hopper costs exactly the same price as buying the 7-day park hopper in advance.
