Jan. 5, 1969 – The Disney TV show “Solomon, the Sea Turtle” aired.
Jan. 5, 1975 – The “Flight to the Moon” attraction closed in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland.
Jan. 5, 1986 - Country Manor opened in the United Kingdom in Epcot, replacing the Biscuit Barrel.
Jan. 5, 1988 – Disney’s ˝-hour TV series “Style and Substance” debuted on CBS.
Jan. 5, 1997 – The Disney Channel’s TV series “Flash Forward” debuted.
Jan. 5, 1998 – The “Take Flight” attraction closed in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. (Formerly was Delta \ DreamFlight)
Jan. 5, 1999 – Disney’s animated feature “The Rescuers” and the new short “Pluto Gets the Paper: Bubble Gum” were released together on video.
Jan. 5, 2002 – Atlanta Braves spring training tickets went on sale at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. This would be the team’s 5th season of spring training at Disney’s complex, which includes a 15 game home schedule starting in mid-February.
Jan. 5, 2003 - Television’s animated family “The Simpson’s” visited a Florida theme park called EFCOT.
Jan. 5, 2003 - Cinderella’s Gala Feast Character dinner opened at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian.

flight to the moon! cancelled because of the real flight to the moon and hence being outdated.... I wonder if it was a popular attraction before the real flight? Did it immediately suffer when the real flight occurred or did it get a surge of attention? It would be great if someone could answer this question!
