Jan. 2, 1982 – The Disney TV show aired “Man’s Hunting Instinct.”
Jan. 2, 1984 - Astuter Computer Revue closed in CommuniCore East, and Backstage Magic will be its replacement.
Jan. 2, 1995 – Disney’s syndicated TV series “The Shnookums & Meat Funny Cartoon Show” began airing. (Ended Aug. 28, 1995)
Jan. 2, 1996 - World of Motion and Transcenter closed to be replaced by “Test Track” presented by General Motors.
Jan. 2, 2001 - Disney’s Grand California Hotel opened at DisneyLand along with two restaurants the “Storytellers Café”, and “NAPA Rose,” and a snack bar, “White Water Snacks.”
Jan. 2, 2002 - Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa taped their program “Live! With Regis and Kelly” at Disney’s California Adventure.
Jan. 2, 2005 – On this day Disney radically changed the way they sell admission tickets, A new ticket called “Magic Your Way” will replace the current one-day, Park Hopper, Park Hopper Plus and Ultimate Park Hopper Tickets.
Jan. 2, 2005 – Beginning on this day, Disney will offer different “Extra Magic Hours.” Each day a different park will open early in the morning, and/or up to three hours later for resort guests.
Jan. 2, 2006 – In observance with the Tournament of Roses “Never on Sunday” tradition, the 117th Rose Parade in Pasadena, Ca. took place on a Monday. Disney took part in the event with a float featuring recreations of all 5 castles from each of its theme parks.
Jan. 2, 2006 – The Disneyland Resort float, titled “The Most Magical Celebration on Earth” appeared in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Ca.
