Dec. 28, 1856 – Thomas Woodrow Wilson, the 28th U.S. President, was born in Staunton, Va. He could be visited along with all the U.S. Chief Executives at the “Hall of Presidents” attraction in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Dec. 28, 1930 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “Playful Pan,” directed by Bert Gillett, was released.
Dec. 28, 1955 – The Disneyland TV series aired “Man and the Moon.”
Dec. 28, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Anything Can Happen Day” on ABC-TV.
Dec. 28, 1956 – Animator & story artist Rick Farmiloe was born in Santa Rosa, Ca. Among his Disney credits were, “The Black Cauldron,” “The Great Mouse Detective,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and “The Little Mermaid.”
Dec. 28, 1969 – The Wonderful World of Disney TV series aired part 2 of “Babes in Toyland.”
Dec. 28, 1972 – The scheduled flights into STOLport, Walt Disney’s own airport, took place.
Dec. 28, 1977 – An amazing 82,938 guests visited WDW on this day.
Dec. 28, 1982 – Attendance at WDW reached a high of 123,000.
Dec. 28, 1986 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired the episodes “Tiger Town” and “Star Tours.” “Tiger Town” stars Roy Schneider as an aging all-star for the Detroit Tigers. In “Star Tours” a group of visitors are taken on a bumpy trip through the Star Wars universe.
