I had already made my dining ressies prior to the announcement of commentators. I am going with someone who has never been and wanted to see it. My question is - if you have a reservation at one of the restaurants, is it possible to go at your designated time and request a ticket for reserved seating when you arrive to eat? Example: I have lunch reservations at Le Cellier. Could I request a ticket for the 5:00 time when I show up at the restaurant?

No. You actually have to book the CP dining package to get guaranteed seating.

1) You need to call FAST.
2) I think Tokyo Dining is the only eatery left.
3) Without "the package", you cannot get reserved seating.
4) Without reserved seating, you stand in line.
5) You must line up 2-2½ hrs early for a seat.

This is the information (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/holidays/christmas/cp.asp) from Info Central on how the preferred seating works. I would HIGHLY recommend it. Couldn't believe when I was there yesterday and saw the HUGE standby line for seats/standing room. I would suspect some of those folks I saw didn't get seats even after waiting a loooong time!
