Dec. 11, 1925 – Bard’s Glendale Theater in Los Angeles, CA. previewed Disney’s Alice Comedy Film “Alice’s Balloon Race.”
Dec. 11, 1949 – Actress Teri Garr, who appeared in the 1991 TV special “The Best of Disney: 50 Years of Magic,” was born in Lakewood, Oh.
Dec. 11, 1957 – The Disneyland TV series presented “The Horse of the West.”
Dec. 11, 1957 – Author, illustrator, and filmmaker William Joyce was born in Louisiana. He has written and illustrated over twenty-five children’s books including “Rolie Polie Olie” and “A Day with Wilbur Robinson.” “Rolie Polie Olie” was turned into an animated Disney Channel series (for which Joyce was awarded 3 Emmys). The 2007 animated feature “Meet the Robinsons” was based on Joyce’s 1993 book “A Day with Wilbur Robinson.”
Dec. 11, 1959 – The Walt Disney Presents TV series featured episode 7a of “Texas John Slaughter: Wild Horse Revenge.”
Dec. 11, 1960 – The Walt Disney Presents TV series aired [II] “Daniel Boone: and Chase the Buffalo.”
Dec. 11, 1963 – Disney’s live-action feature film “The Three Lives of Thomasina,” starring Patrick McGoohan, Laurenc Naismith, and Susan Hampshire, had its premiere in New York.
Dec. 11, 1966 – Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color aired “Joker, the Amiable Ocelot.”
Dec. 11, 1970 – The Disney Animated Feature Film “The Aristocats” had its premiere in Los Angeles. (General release was Dec. 24, 1970)
Dec. 11, 1976 – The Disney TV special “Lt. Robinson Crusoe U.S.N.” aired.
