Dec. 3, 1888 - Herbert Disney, Walt’s brother was born.
Dec. 3, 1941 – Disney’s animated feature “Pinocchio” was released in Eritrea (a country in Northeast Africa.)
Dec. 3, 1944 – Mouseketeer Lynn Ready, who appeared on “The Mickey Mouse Club” during the 1956-1957 season was Born in Dallas, Tx.
Dec. 3, 1944 – Actor Jake T. Austin, Max Russo on Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” was born in N.Y.C.
Dec. 3, 1945 – Disney’s Educational film “Light Is What You Make It” was delivered to the National Better Light Better Sight Bureau.
Dec. 3, 1948 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey and the Seal” was released.
Dec. 3, 1953 – Walt Disney wrote his annual birthday letter to his sister Ruth (who will celebrate on Dec. 6). His words include: “I am hoping you will use the enclosed check for yourself-something that you might particulary like to have and let it be my birthday gift to you.” He goes on to apologize for not being home when Ruth and her son came to visit during the past summer. Walt wrote of his recent trip to Mexico and his Disneyland project.
Dec. 3, 1961 – The Disney TV show aired “A Fire Called Jeremiah.”
Dec. 3, 1965 – Writer, voice actor, director, and animator Andrew Stanton was born in Rockport, Massachusetts. His Disney/Pixar credits include “Wall-E,” “Ratatouille,” “Cars,” “The Incredibles,” “Finding Nemo,” “Monsters Inc.” “Toy Story 2,” “A Bug’s Life,” and “Toy Story.”
Dec. 3, 1972 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired part 2 of “Chander, the Black Leopard of Ceylon.”
