Dec. 2, 1931 – The Mickey Mouse short “Mickey Cuts Up” was released.
Dec. 2, 1935 – Marc Davis was hired as an apprentice animator at The Walt Disney Studios. (He would go on to create such Disney characters as Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Tinker Bell, and Cruella de Vil.)
Dec. 2, 1938 – Clarence Charles Nash from Oklahoma joined Disney’s studio as employee number 125. Impressed by Nash’s vocal skills, Walt Disney had asked Nash to make an informal audition after first meeting him in 1932. “Ducky” Nash would be best known for providing the voice of Donald Duck.
Dec. 2, 1948 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey and the Seal” was released.
Dec. 2, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Talent Round-Up Day” on ABC-TV.
Dec. 2, 1962 – Disney’s part-1 of its 2-part movie “The Mooncussers” aired. (Part-2 aired Dec. 9, 1962)
Dec. 2, 1965 – Disney’s live-action feature film “That Darn Cat!,” starring Hayley Mills and Dean Jones, was generally released.
Dec. 2, 1968 – Actress Lucy Liu, the voice of Mel in Disney’s Mulan II, was born in Queens, N.Y.
Dec. 2, 1981 – Pop star Britney Jean Spears, a member of the 90’s TV show “The All New Mickey Mouse Club,” was born in Kentwood, Louisiana.
Dec. 2, 1984 – Margarita Granados (20 years old) gave birth to a baby girl in Disneyland.
