Dec. 1, 1924 – Disney’s Alice Comedy “Alice and the Three Bears,” was released.
Dec. 1, 1925 – Composer-conductor Jamie Mendoza-Nava was born in La Paz, Bolivia. After arriving in the U.S. in the early 1950’s, he would work on Disney’s TV shows and develop its copyright department. Mendoza-Nava would score music for “The Mickey Mouse Club” and “Zorro.”
Dec. 1, 1937 – Final photography for “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” took place.
Dec. 1, 1945 – Singer-actress Bette Midler, who was the voice of Georgette in Disney’s 1988 “Oliver & Company” (for which she also co-produced), and hosted a segment of Disney’s “Fantasia/2000,” was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dec. 1, 1950 – Walt Disney wrote his annual birthday letter to his sister Ruth (Who will turn a year older on Dec.6). He writes of childhood memories and his upcoming TV show to be released on Christmas Day. As he can never figure out what to get Ruth for her birthday, he enclosed his traditional check.
Dec. 1, 1952 – Walt’s brother Herb Disney retired from the Post Office after more than 37 years. (In his younger days Walt had worked for the Post Office in Chicago.)
Dec. 1, 1954 – The Disneyland TV series aired “A Story of Dogs.”
Dec. 1, 1954 – An article titled “Fairyland of Yesterday and Tomorrow” appeared in the publication Popular Mechanics. (It told of Disney’s new Anaheim park which would open the following July and its attractions.)
Dec. 1, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Circus Day” on ABC-TV.
Dec. 1, 1955 – The “Maxwell House Coffee House” opened on Main Street at Disneyland. (Closed Oct. 8, 1957)

Perhaps...but hopefully they could do better than Maxwell House (even though that would still be an improvement over most of the coffee in WDW).
