Nov. 17, 1907 – Animator Les Clark, one of Walt’s “Nine Old Men,” who worked on such Disney classics as “Sleeping Beauty,” “Lady and the Tramp,” and “Melody Time,” was born in Utah.
Nov. 17, 1934 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Dognapper” was released.
Nov. 17, 1941 – Disney’s 4th animated feature “Dumbo,” was released in Brazil.
Nov. 17, 1944 – Actor Danny DeVito, the voice of Phil in Disney’s animated “Hercules,” was born in Neptune, N.J. (Fans of classic TV will remember him as Louie De Palma on the series Taxi.)
Nov. 17, 1944 – Animator Gary Goldman was born in Oakland, Ca. He would begin his career in animation with Walt Disney Productions as an in-betweener to legendary Disney animator Frank Thomas on the film “Robin Hood.”
Nov. 17, 1951 – Actor Stephen Root, the voice of Bubbles in Disney’s 2003 “Finding Nemo,” and was the voice of Zeb in Disney’s 2002 “The Country Bears,” was born in Sarasota, Fl.
Nov. 17, 1954 – The Disneyland TV series aired “The Donald Duck Story.”
Nov. 17, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Circus Day” on ABC-TV.
Nov. 17, 1956 – The first of eight installments of “My Dad, Walt Disney,” by Diane Disney Miller (as told to writer Pete Martin) appeared in the Saturday Evening Post.
Nov. 17, 1963 – The Disney TV show aired “The Truth About Mother Goose.”
