Rode COP on monday and was very surprised to see that the Dad was missing his left hand in the final scene!!:eyes:

Why would WDW allow the show to go with such an obvious issue? lol

Unfortunately it's the little things like these that let it down. But I suppose if it has happened whilst the ride is in operation, then they may not have noticed? But saying that, the buzz lightyear animatronic in Disneyland Paris the other month hadn't been looked at for ages and recalibrated. His hand had dropped slighty, (still working and animated but was knocking into the plastic around his wrist smashing it up. Looked a mess if you looked closely. After all, things do just break from time to time, but I see your point. There was a time when they would have been fixed straight away. :(

its the future scene... maybe his hand was blown off when the stove over heated... and they are waiting for the futuristic "robot" arms to be made for him...

Maybe he had to "lend a hand" to Uncle Orville?

Sorry, someone had to say it...

Well that is something you don't see everyday. :) LOL
That is quite funny. Isn't he cutting something in that scene too?
Maybe they took it off for halloween and are using it in another scene that needed a hand. :)

I always thought it was because I was looking at it from an odd angle. Good to know.

no, he is doing something cooking related with his right, only gesturing to the oven with his left, which made it more noticable.

what scene is he wearing two left shoes??:D

Once they sell enough Duffy bears to pay for the new hand, we'll get it. Go buy Duffy!

He must have gotten into a fight with Darth Vador and he was thinking of going as Luke Skywalker for halloween.

What is up with this Duffy bear thing? It wasn't there last year. Looks so hokie!

And, I'll have to hand it to you all for all your jokes.... (sorry, had to throw one in)

This story about a CoP defect reminds me of a time when I got stuck inside during a storm, the show malfunctioned, and the theater didn't rotate, which led to repeat viewings of the same scene about three times. Needless to say, I was very sick of that scene and song by the time it was over.

He just met the Cleavers from down the street.

I am curious about the shoes as well.

And where did this Duffy bear come from? Is it going to be another stitch?:ack:

Maybe someone should ask the right hand if it knows what the left hand is . . . aw, never mind

Maybe they can run down to the Pirates of the Caribbean or Peter Pan ride and find a hook for him

Im sure they will finger something out

Of course I dont mean that in an off-hand way

Literally, the Dad single-handedly carries the whole show. Now he is just doing it figuratively also . :D

We were there the week prior and I did not notice it missing so i'm assuming it had not been off for long. Maybe I didn't notice but that seems like you would notice.

I have also been stuck on this ride, not during a storm, but as the theatre was about to rotate a loud grinding noise would happen and you would either be stuck in the same scene or between two. It was never closed and happened all during the week, sometime ya made it all the way through, sometimes not lol. I did not mind being stuck though.

I have noticed a few things on the animitronics that have been getting worn out, and not fixed, Father and Sons eyes seem to be "wonky" most of the time "Sons especially in 1920's scene" I believe the 2 left shoes is in that scene also. The rain in the turn of the century scene did not work for a long time but it has been fixed as it has been working for the last few years.

CoP is one of my favs and I hope Disney puts some money into it, and update the future scene. The attraction does not draw anyone into the park so I doubt anything will be done, but it should be maintained being as it is a huge piece of Disney history. Atleast they added a Plasma HDTV to the future scene, projection tv's have been out of date for some time now.

I think it was taken over to POTC ride for spare parts. Pirates have never cared about Hand me downs.

It could also have been put up for a charity auction. I know a lot of people who would love a prop from a Disney ride, even if it is second hand.

Ok folks lets keep these horrible jokes going!!
