I just saw that One Man's Dream at the Studios is "dark" for a few weeks this Fall. Is it a common thing for it to be closed this time of year? My inlaws are making their first visit to WDW next Fall and we thought we might start with that attraction to get them in the spirit.

No, it's not common. They've been doing a complete refurbishment of the attraction, apparently adding some new stuff.

As Chris stated, they are changing over much of the exhibit.

It is rumoured, but not confirmed, that part of the new exhibit will be for new Imagineering projects-- like the Fantasyland Expansion.

So far, there is no indication that the exhibit will be updated every Fall time period.

Excellent! Thanks for the insight!

I like the concept of this attraction more than its execution. How cool would it be to have an entire museum in a Disney theme park devoted to drawings and models and original concepts of all of the park attractions through the years?

I think it would be too cool. From what I understand in just models alone; Disney makes about 150 a year. They can't save all of them, but they are reported to have more than 1,700 in storage. That alone would make for a very interesting museum. Toss in the concept sketches and art on the walls. I will be first in line to see that.:mickey:

How long will it be closed? Will it be open by December?

I wish that the film at the end would be about what is planned for the future of Disney Theme Parks.

Any one know what changes were made during the refurb? It should have opened back up by now.

This would be cool if they could add a few things. I haven't been in there the last three trips. It's kinda "once you've seen it, you've seen it." If they're adding some stuff, I'd like to go back in there. Plus, I wonder if Eisner is still on the film. For all I know, he may have been cut out years ago.

The updated displays include the Audio Animatronic Lincoln from the 1964 World's Fair and a display featuring elements from Horizons, Journey into Imagination, and Kitchen Kabaret. These displays have been added near the end of the exhibit section.

In regards to the Imagineering projects display, a single display has been added for the Fantasyland expansion.

Adding:

Part of the 1964 World's Fair display also features facade models of the Pepsi pavilion's "it's a small world" attraction.

One Man's Dream was open today. I asked a CM when it opened, and she said it had only been open for about 30 minutes. There is new carpet and some new exhibits.

It looks really cool. The original AA Abe, Figment and a VeggieFruitFruit character. Looks like I'll have to head in there while the kids are napping this next trip.

Thanks for the pics! It looks as though (in the last picture) there's a model of a clam-mobile from the Nemo ride, as well as pictures of the future Little Mermaid attraction. Maybe they're re-using the idea of clam-mobiles for that ride in the future?

I wondered that too. Is that the Blue Sky area?

Yep it looks like that will be the ride vehicle for the mermaid ride. My daughter said the same thing: that's Nemo!! :)
