I finally got a job!!!! WooHoo!!!

Ok, it's not a full time direct hire job, but it's a job. I'm working a contract through the end of the year with a software company about a 1/2 mile from my house.

Feels great to be working again, and back in software development. I will get my first paycheck since March 2009, nice getting money for actually working and not for being unemployeed.

I may be right back in the role of a job seeker in January, but for now I'm thrilled. Going to work is actually fun, even on Friday. I'm learning new skills, working in the VB.Net world in the small business market instead of my former Java with a large telecommunication company.

I haven't posted here in while, but thanks for all the support and well wishes during the last 18 months.

My SIL once had a contract job. Was supposed to end at a certain time and she ended up being either extended or hired on.

Awesome news! Glad to hear things are turning around for you.

My current employer hired me as contract a while back . . . a lot of companies are doing the "trial by contract" now so they can ensure they get the right person. Good luck!
