Ok... we go just about every Saturday, but this one I wanted to write about.

We get to the park before it opens. Once opened off to Space Mountain to get FP for later. Do a few attractions and then back for more Space Mt FP. While waiting for the second set of FP, we saw the cutest Minnie ear headband. It was the Minnie ears with a candy corn on top. On the ears there was a candy corn dangling like earings.

On to our meeting with the goats at Big Thunder Ranch. DD love to spend time with her favorite goats... Lilo and Stitch. They are still babies, but so big now.

By this time it was close to lunch and went to Rancho Del Zocalo. Meal done, it is off to Haunted Mansion Holiday. I just LOVE this version. Looked at a few more stores and then on to DCA.

Walking into DCA was so sad. The usual Halloween decorations are not up. It looked so bare. We were on our way to Redwood Creek and stopped at the DVC stand. They called over to see if my guide was in, she was so we made an appointment for later. Our friends called to say they were on the tram and we met them at Whitewater snacks. Our other friend was at Disneyland so we sent the girls over to meet up and go on some rides while the adults went over to the DVC to meet our guide.

We had a great time with our guide. I was not sure if I wanted to keep GCV as my home resort and wanted to go over the numbers at AKL. I ended up keeping GCV. My 10 cancellation time is coming up quickly, so I just had to see if I should change or not. After refreshments at DVC we headed back to GCH to pick up my scooter and head over to DL to meet up with our friends & DD's. On to ride HMH again, this time with everyone. After that on to BTMRR before it got dark... I don't like coasters in the dark. Made it... there was still light in the sky. Dinner time... over to the Plaza Inn. After dinner the kids went back on Space Mt., then over to Matterhorn. The only one I ride at night. We had some fastpasses from our guide at DVC, so one last ride on Space Mt..

The fireworks were starting to go off... they had Remember. I love that one, but we wanted to beat the crowd to the trams, so down Main Street we roll while the fireworks started. Made a stop at WOD on the way and made it to the trams before the crowd. So ends another great day at the DLR.

Thanks for the report ... it must be weird not saying any Halloween decorations at DCA, but I am fine with it -- I would rather then spend their energy working on finishing the park redo!

Hi Marci,
We were also there on Saturday and noticed the same thing about No Halloween decos at CA. Everything is still WOC. But we didnt spend much time there, so we didnt feel cheated.
We also figured that there were alot of VIP's in the park because rides were being shut down left and right.
Glad you had a great day. :mickey:

Last Saturday (10/16), Jessica and I took my DF to Disneyland. He has not been in about 6 years when he went to DCA. We were celebrating his 90th Birthday:party:

We started the day at the Plaza Inn for breakfast. He loved the characters. Breakfast was ok... I like the one at Storytellers Cafe better. We did our usual routine... Captain EO... took the train to Haunted Mansion and then on to POTC.

We met up with our friends at Big Thunder Ranch to see the goats....those babies and not so little any more.

We headed over to Small World only to find a long H/C line (it was very busy that day) and opted for a train ride to New Orleans Square station to get some lunch at the French Market. Wow... from the train we could see that there were no tables to be found and the line was out the door. Did I mention that DL was really busy that day;) We ended up at Hungry Bear. I haven't been there in years. The line was short and we were able to get a table without much wait. I was really suprised at how good the food was for burgers/fries etc. The only thing I don't like was the ramp up. It was very bumpy. Not too bad on an ECV, but I was using my walker since my DF was using my scooter.

We went back for a second trip on HMH then headed to Fantsyland. Somehow, the control got stuck with the light on the scooter and my father could not stop. I was yelling STOP STOP... so people would not become bowling pins. I fixed the problem and he stopped, but that was after he was dragging my walker and me and rolling over my foot. Limping away we headed to Matterhorn while my father did some people watching. We took him to the outpost to see Finding Nemo Subs. and then headed over to the Grand Californian for dinner at Storytellers Cafe.

A long day for him... Jessi and I are used to it and could have stayed longer. DF is not really a "Disney" type of guy. He would rather go to the casino and play poker.:secret: He said he would not mind going again in the spring. He really had a good time and we made some good (and not so good...my aching foot) memories.
I can't wait to make more memories with him.

Nice celebration for 90 years young. As passholders I have seen that you go most saturdays, did you happen to go on 10/23 - I was just curious if it was also crowded that day.

We skipped this last Saturday. I know that the parks have been very busy on Saturdays during this whole month. We are going to brave the crowds this coming Saturday though. Gotta get my Halloween decoration fix in before it is gone. The CHOC walk has been going on as well.
