Sept. 18, 1917 – Voice actress June Foray, the voice of Rocket J. “Rocky” Squirrel, and lent her vocal talents to the Disney classic’s “Cinderalla,” and “Peter Pan,” was born in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Sept. 18, 1925 – The Apollo Theater in Los Angeles, Ca. premiered Disney’s Alice Comedy film “Alice Plays Cupid.”
Sept. 18, 1928 – Walt Disney’s “Mickey Mouse” trademark application was granted.
Sept. 18, 1932 – Mickey Mouse’s nephews “Ferdy” (sometimes spelled Ferdie) appeared in his one and only Mickey Mouse comic strip with his brother “Morty.”
Sept. 18, 1939 – Actor and master of sketch comedy Fred Willard, the voice of Melvin in the 2005 animated feature “Chicken Little,” was born in Shaker Heights, Oh.
Sept. 18, 1957 – The Disney TV show aired “Four Fabulous Characters.”
Sept. 18, 1973 – Actor James Marsden was born in Stillwater, Ok. He appeared as Prince Edward in Disney’s 2007 feature “Enchanted.”
Sept. 18, 1982 – Ron Schneider (who has been appearing in the Golden Horseshoe Revue at Disneyland) arrived in Orlando, Fl. to prepare for his newest role. He has been hired to play a wizard named “Dreamfinder” for Epcot’s “Journey Into Imagination” pavilion, which will debut with the new theme park on Oct. 1st. (The actual attraction opened in March 1983.)
Sept. 18, 1986 – Disney’s syndicated TV series “Siskel & Ebert at the Movies” began airing. (Ended Aug. 29, 1999)
Sept. 18, 1986 – Disney’s “Captain EO” attraction opened in Tomorrowland at Disneyland. (Closed Apr. 6, 1997)
