If you could bring back one attraction which would it be?

Without question, I would bring back the original Journey into Imagination. The new one is fun enough but pales in comparison to the fun and fantasy of the original. I would also bring back the original Imageworks. I think the new one is pretty boring and doesn't have all the cool stuff to do that the old one had.

What would you guys resurrect?

If You Had Wings. I remember being scared during the movie portion when I was little and then liking it later. I miss it as it's one of the first Disney attractions I remember!

Horizons. But I like the replacement, too. Would love to see something in the Wonders of Life Pavilion.

Well it's not exactly an attraction, althought it could be, it's more like an institution....

What replaced Horizons? I thought it was just an empty building now used for functions?

I would LOVE to resurrect 20K Leagues!!! That is the first ride I ever really remember going on. I was little, and with my mom, and SCARED TO DEATH!!! What a great ride. :-)

You're thinking of the Wonders of Life pavillion. Horizons was replaced by Mission:Space. Horizons is the one I'd bring back because it was what Epcot was all about for me, a look to the future.

Mission Space took the spot previously occupied by Horizons which was torn down.

Okay, so I can't narrow it down to one - "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" & "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

So what is that building on your left when you're walking into World Showcase? I always thought that was Horizons!

Sorry...off the subject, just curious.

That's the old Odyssey restaurant, now used occasionally for private functions.

If you had wings and (can't remember the name of it) the "cars" that slowly took you above from Fantasyland to, I think, Tomorrowland. Somebody please know what I am talking about, not knowing the name is killing me!

Not that either of these were fantastic attractions, but they are nostalgic for me. :cloud9:

I think that you are referencing the "Skyway to Tomorrowland" (from Fantasyland) and the "Skyway to Fantasyland" (from Tomorrowland). I have a lot of fond memories from this attraction, but it closed because of fatal accidents (involving Disney Cast Members, I think).

Slam dunk, here. Alien Encounter: Extra Terror-estrial. That attraction really freaked me out.

For all those Mr Toad lovers: I've been on it at Disneyland, and you ain't missing anything. Sad to say, but Pooh Bear is better, and my kids like it a lot more. They really didn't care for the "Going to Hell" portion of Mr Toad.

I would think that is the main reason fans of the ride are so sad to see it gone. I agree the ride itself was nothing special. But the "train wreck/going to hell" ending was so exciting and funny, that it made for a great experience. Count me as one who would love to see it return.

A cast member was killed on the Skyway attraction, but he was knocked out of the station, he did not fall out of a car. But that was not the main reason it was closed (it was not deemed unsafe for guests). It did not meet ADA requirements and was apparently going to be too expensive to make compliant. It was also very SLOW loading, and there were a lot of complaints about riders spitting, throwing and, dropping spitting things out of the cars onto guests below. I think Disney just decided it wasn't worth the effort to keep it open.

Here's one report on the accident:

"In February 1999, a park custodian at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom was killed when the skyway started up while he was cleaning one of the platforms at the Fantasyland terminal. Raymond Barlow, 65, was sweeping off a narrow skyway platform inaccessible to park guests an hour after the park's 9 a.m. opening when Cast Members, unaware of his presence, started up the ride. Barlow, startled by the approaching gondola, grabbed onto it and tried to climb inside; he fell 40 feet into a flower bed, hitting a tree on the way down, and died. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration later ruled that the area in which Barlow had been working violated federal safety codes and fined Walt Disney World $4,500 for a "serious" violation of safety standards. Several months later, on November 9, 1999, the Magic Kingdom's skyway was also permanently closed. Once again, the decision to close the attraction was supposedly based on factors other than its being involved in a recent accidental death."

And if I was powerful enough to do that, I'd also bring back the original ImageWorks at JII. We called it the playroom. Big pin boards, huge kaleidoscopes - total blast!
