Wow! That's crazy! The picture by the carousel was very scarry looking. I originally was suppose to be at WDW this week but changed my plans till December due to the hurricane season forecast, i'm glad I did. Hope the weather gets better for you!

Thanks for the pics. I tried to get some of lightning on our last trip but was unsuccessful. I didn't try again a few days later when we had a storm with a significant number of lightning strikes but probably would have had more luck with that storm!

Nice pics. Typical FL weather. It is hard to get very detailed pictures of lightening because the aperture needs to be closed almost completely on a camera.

I will never forget the time a bad thunderstorm was coming our way when we were at DHS. So we headed for our resort and as we were leaving the ferry dock, I turned around to take a picture and this huge black storm cloud looked like it was sitting right over the Tower of Terror. It was very omnious looking for the Tower but so fit the scheme that I had it framed. Hope the storm didn't effect your trip too much.:jaw:

WOW! That was some storm. I remember we
were there in the MK when a terrible storm
came up right after the fireworks. We were in
Tomorrowland. They opened the back up there
in Tomorrowland to let people out. It was a
very scary night. :(

Cool pictures! Where did all the people go? Are they all packed into the stores?

McLiberal8

Yep, were probably on Main Street - This was at about 8:50 and Wishes was set to start at 9. People were waiting in their fireworks spots. But it was pretty dead the whole trip, either way. Besides TSM, no ride that i went on had a line longer than 15 minutes.

So links to photos ARE allowed in non-trip report threads now?

I like a picture of lightning as much as the next person.

Is this a "depends on what the picture is" thing?

I'm confused.

Linking to picture sharing sites to personal Disney photos is fine.

We were there too. We saw the lighting and went into Monster Laugh Floor. When we got out Tomorrowland was flooded!!!! There was at least 3 inches of water. Almost all the rides except Space Mt. closed down. We saw people getting evacuated from the PeopleMover. The only good thing about it was it was EMH and many people must have left with the storm so we walked on everything.

I was in charge of pushing my father in the wheel chair , we had just arrived and were walking towards Great Movie Ride. Well a big roll of lighting and thunder came and it poured instantly. Everyone cleared the streets and filled the side stores. And I also joined everyone by getting under cover. Well I just left my father in the middle of the Main Street. A cast member came out to get him. Every time I recall this "memory" I laugh so hard my belly hurts. If only my dad could see the funny side of this story. :funny:

Someone asked where everyone went during the storm?

Let's just say a few Wishes cast members -cough cough- dropped their rope and let a bunch of people into the castle walkway for a good hour. Then told the hundreds waiting in front of the castle to not stand there and go to Main Street ASAP.

The good thing is, everyone was safe and the kids enjoyed getting stickers for being so brave!

My wife & I were in MK during that storm as well. We were on Buzz Lightyear when the storm hit so we had no idea until we got off the ride and the picture viewing area & shop was packed with people. The CM's wouldn't let anyone exit the shop due to the lightning. It was packed elbow to the elbow leaving everyone irritable & uncomfortable. It seemed like forever before the storm let up & the CM's told people they can leave at their own risk. Tomorrow Land was so flooded.

we were on HM and the CM told us all to leave and not block the exit, they said we had to go out into it!

So... we donned our ponchos and walked through the ankle high water! But everything was shut, so it didnt really get us anywhere.

WDW is right there in Lightening Alley, or Thunderstorm Alley. Glad I wasn't there to see it personally. Lightening does strange things to my bladder. That's why I live in CA.
