I have been calling trying to get Chef Mickey's breakfast for one of the days, september 20-23. I have O'hana's in reserve, but want more variety of food. In the past I have walked up to most every character breakfast without a reservation and was seated within 20 minutes, but have never tried this during FREE dining. What are my chances of getting into Chef Mickey's as a walk up? Thanks--there will be 6 of us.

Two words...."not good". Walk up at Chef Mickeys is nearly impossible!

How about 1900 Park fare?

The character breakfasts are popular so you're taking a chance with walk-up at any of them. I would say to check out the online reservations and see what is available, and keep checking. Even on the day of, it would make more sense to call Disney Dining and see which character breakfasts could seat you instead of taking a chance walking up and being turned away from any given one. Cape May Cafe and 1900 Park Fare may be two with a better chance at walk-up than others, and a good variety buffet.

But if characters were not important, the best breakfasts are at non-character venues as far as food and service, in my opinion. I like Grand Floridian Cafe (not a buffet) and Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge (buffet).

Yes, disney.com then Parks and then "where to eat". It's very user friendly!

Boma's breakfast buffet is pretty good but no characters. You probably have a better chance of a walk up there.

If you can skip the characters, the Wave has a good breakfast. Boma is our favorite breakfast.
