Sept. 8, 1904 – Robert G. Springsteen, who directed segments of Disney’s TV series “The Mickey Mouse Club,” was born in Tacoma, Washington.
Sept. 8, 1905 – Animator Lynn Karp was born. Between 1935 and 1941, he would work as an animator at Disney on such films as “Pinocchio” and “Fantasia.”
Sept. 8, 1955 – Elsa Marquez was welcomed as the 1-millionth guest at Disneyland. (7 weeks after the park’s grand opening.)
Sept. 8, 1974 – Kevin Osgood, a member of the 1990’s “Mickey Mouse Club,” was born in San Diego, Ca.
Sept. 8, 1981 – Actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas, the voice of Young Simba in Disney’s “The Lion King” was born in Bethlehem, Pa.
Sept. 8, 1986 – Actor Jake Sandvig, Lash in Disney’s 2005 “Sky High,” was born in Clovis, Ca.
Sept. 8, 1989 – The TV show “The Nutt House,” produced by Mel Brooks for Disney, 1st aired on NBC. (It would be cancelled within 5 weeks.)
Sept. 8, 1990 – The Disney TV series “The Fanelli Boys” began airing on NBC.
Sept. 8, 1991 – The Disney TV series “Herman’s Head” began airing on FOX (Ended June 16, 1994)
Sept. 8, 1991 – Disney’s syndicated TV special “The Darkwing Duck Premiere; Back to School with the Mickey Mouse Club” aired.
