Sept. 1, 1875 – Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of “Tarzan” was born in Chicago, Il.
Sept. 1, 1910 – Disney Legend Cyril James was born in South Wales. He would become known as Roy O. Disney’s British counterpart because of his business genius and skill at handling all of the financial and administrative affairs for Walt Disney Productions, Ltd., in London, England.
Sept. 1, 1925 – The Paramount Theater in Los Angeles, Ca. previewed Disney’s Alice Comedy film “Alice the Jail Bird.”
Sept. 1, 1934 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “Peculiar Penguins” was released.
Sept. 1, 1934 – Walt and Lillian Disney returned home to Los Angeles, Ca. from a trip to Hawaii aboard the Matson liner Malolo.
Sept. 1, 1939 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “The Autograph Hound” was released.
Sept. 1, 1940 – Disney’s “The Volunteer Worker,” starring Donald Duck was released.
Sept. 1, 1944 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “The Plastic Inventor” was released.
Sept. 1, 1950 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Hook, Lion and Sinker” was released.
Sept. 1, 1956 – The publication American Home ran the article “Rare Antiques in Disneyland” along with a dozen photos.
