I am going to WDW in December and planning what to do on my arrival date without using a park admission. Someone had mentioned they tour the resorts to look at decorations and also view the fireworks. Which got me wondering- where is best place to view fireworks outside of MK?

Thanks in advance!

I've seen Wishes from a bus leaving Epcot. You can see it from pretty far as long as there are no trees in your immediate area.

The beach at the Poly is an excellent place to view them. There is also a viewing area on the 4th floor of the Contemporary. Gaspirilla's at the Grand Floridian offers a view of the fireworks as well. You can also see them from the beach at Fort Wilderness.

I heard from a friend that they stopped allowing people on the roof of the Contemporary for Wishes. Is that true? That's the only place I'd watch it.

Am trying to plan out where I can view the fireworks (staying at All Star Movies). So I saunter over to where to watch?

I will also mention another good place to see Wishes. There is a gazebo outside of Narcoosies at the Grand Floridian. It's right on the water so you'd have a very good view. The narration and music is also played on a speaker.

We watched Wishes from the beach at the Poly this year, and it was great! You get to relax in a lounge chair, and not get trampled on when the show is over! ;)

As far as I know the roof is reserved for California Grill patrons, as it should be, it got ridiculously crowded when anyone could go up there. It's not a big deal, though, there is an excellent viewing area on the 4th floor.

I would say the beach at the Poly would be the
best. I think that is the best spot.

This is true. You now need to be escorted up to California Grill. However, as far as being crowded, on our last several dining experiences at California Grill, we've found the roof area to be ridiculously crowded with just those who are permitted to view fromt his area.

I don't think they enforce the rules as much as they should because my friend went with his two friends a couple of weeks ago and they were able to get up there without dining. Maybe that's why it's still so crowded?

Are you able to see Wishes from the Wilderness Lodge?

We're going to try this viewing area in February. We've got a 630 dinner ADR at Chef Mickey's so we are hoping to eat and head out there just in time for the show to start at 800. :fworks:

The beach at the Poly is a great place. Plus, you can also catch the Electric Water Pageant. Another place to watch is the Transportation area where the boat docks across the Seven Seas Lagoon.
